Paint Practicum
In Paint Practicum, we learned the fundamentals of scenic painting, and had hands-on practice with some frequently used techniques. The first piece below is a sample of common textures found in painted scenery, including wood grain and intentionally weathered, chipped paint. The second was a test of our abilities to match a reference image, as scenic painters often have to do from paint elevations. My piece is a 5’x6’ replica of Vincent Van Gogh’s Flowerpot with Chives.
